01 Overview

The heavy lifting, without paying for a truck you have already rented

Not every Las Vegas move calls for a full-service mover. Sometimes all the job needs is two trained, experienced movers for a couple of hours. Maybe you rented a Penske for the drive down I-15 to California and want it loaded so nothing shifts on the grade. Maybe a POD is sitting in the driveway out in Enterprise and the last thing you want is to wrestle a sleeper sofa up the ramp in the August heat. That is loading and unloading labor, and our crew does it every week.

From Summerlin to Henderson, PT Van Lines prices the whole move as one written number you can hold us to.

You bring the rig, we bring the hands and the know-how

Pull up the U-Haul, the Penske, the trailer or the POD, and the crew and the method are on us. Nothing like a one-hour minimum is sitting over the job, so two movers go on at $159 an hour and three at $219, billed only for as long as the lifting takes. A fast unload into a Paradise apartment is not charged like a full day, and in summer we put you on a dawn slot so nobody is loading in the teeth of the heat.

Packed to ride, not just stacked to fit

What you are really paying a crew for on a self-drive move is how the load travels. We pad-wrap the furniture, strap it in tiers, and keep the weight low and balanced so a rental stays planted on the I-15 grades and through the Spaghetti Bowl — the same discipline we bring to our own trucks. A sloppy load shifts the first hard brake on the interstate, and that is the moment a cheap labor day becomes a cracked dresser and a dented door. Tight on the front end means a boring drive, which is the goal.

  • Loading or unloading rental trucks, PODs, shipping containers and trailers alike
  • Pads, dollies, shrink wrap and load straps brought by the crew
  • Taking beds and large furniture apart, or putting them back together, is part of the labor
  • On a labor-only job our coverage sits on the handling we do, since the drive afterward is yours, not ours

Let us know the rig and what needs doing. Put $100 down to lock the crew and the day; it comes right off your labor total.

What’s included

  • Our own PT Van Lines muscle and method loading or unloading your rental truck, POD, container or trailer — you bring the vehicle, we bring the crew
  • Labor-only with no one-hour minimum hanging over it: $159 an hour fields two movers, $219 fields three, for as long as the work actually runs
  • Professional load planning that sets the weight low and balanced so a rental rides safe down I-15 toward LA or out US-95 to Reno
  • Dawn crew slots in summer so the loading is done before the desert heat turns a self-drive day into an ordeal
  • The crew carries in the pads, dollies, shrink wrap and load straps, and breaking down and rebuilding beds and big furniture is part of the labor
  • Because this is labor only, the released-value coverage rides on the loading and unloading we do, not on the miles you drive afterward — we say so plainly before you book

How we set the price

After a quick walkthrough or video estimate, we build a single flat rate off the inventory you actually own — no hourly clock anywhere in it. What that sheet reads is the full price, with nothing tacked on later.

02 How we protect your move

We handle your things like they are ours

Pads, shrink film, and floor runners ride on every truck — ready to wrap furniture, shield tile and laminate, and cushion the fragile stuff whether the job is a Summerlin two-story, a gated Green Valley home, or a Strip high-rise condo.

Quilted pads

Every dresser, table, and headboard is pad-wrapped right where it stands before anything heads for the door.

Stretch film

Drawers stay shut and upholstery stays clean — wrapped tight against desert dust and the heat in the trailer all the way to the door.

Floor & doorway guards

Runners, rail wraps, and jamb pads go down before a single box moves, so tile, railings, and trim end the day exactly as they started.

Built-to-fit crating

Mirrors, glass tabletops, framed art, flat screens — we build each one its own crate, sized corner to corner.

Break-down & rebuild

Bed frames, dining tables, sectionals — the big pieces come apart for the haul and we reassemble them once they are inside your new place.

Straps, dollies & gear

High-rise freight elevators, tight condo corridors, and the heaviest loads each get the proper tie-downs and equipment — we cut no corners on our truck.

03 Why us

Whose name is on the truck is whose name is on your contract

Book PT Van Lines and the rig in your driveway is ours, the paperwork is ours, and the movers carrying your couch down the stairs are on our payroll — your job is never handed off. Brokers run it backwards: they sell the move to whoever bids lowest that week, then vanish.

PT Van Lines
  • Our own trucks, staffed by full-time background-checked movers — we never grab day labor off a corner
  • The number we put on paper is the number you settle — signed, locked, dollar for dollar
  • One crew from the first box loaded to the last box set down
  • Nevada (NTA) household-goods authority, USDOT/MC for interstate runs, and full insurance on every job
  • One Las Vegas office, one point of contact, from your first call through the last box
What a broker does
  • Auctions your move off to whichever outfit bids cheapest that week
  • Watches the quote balloon on move day with add-ons nobody warned you about
  • Sends strangers you have never spoken to up your stairs with everything you own
  • Keeps it vague about whose policy actually covers a dropped TV
  • Puts a call-center wall between you and whoever eventually rolls up to load

Questions we hear about this service

I have already rented a truck — can you just do the lifting?
Yes — labor-only is right up near the top of what people book us for. Pull the U-Haul, Penske, POD or trailer up and our crew handles the loading or the unloading. It runs at our normal crew rate — $159/hr for two movers, $219/hr for three — with the one-hour minimum waived, so a quick unload into a Spring Valley apartment does not cost you half a day. In summer we will slot you at dawn to beat the heat.
Can you load a POD or shipping container instead of a truck?
Definitely. We load containers and PODs regularly for Valley folks running their own long-distance move or staging a remodel. The same load planning that keeps a moving truck stable over the Spaghetti Bowl interchange keeps a POD packed tight so nothing shifts when the carrier hauls it off across the desert.
Will the load be packed right if I am driving the truck myself?
That is the whole reason to bring our crew in. We pad-wrap the furniture, strap the load in tiers, and set the weight where it belongs so a rental handles right on I-15 or US-95. One thing to flag: on labor-only work we are not the carrier doing the transporting, so the coverage sits on our handling rather than on the drive you take afterward. A $100 deposit holds the crew and the date.
