01 Overview

San Diego is the longest of our straight-shot California runs, riding I-15 the whole way from the Las Vegas Valley down to the coast. PT Van Lines books it as a planned interstate move with one truck and one crew across the full distance. We are a fully licensed Nevada (NTA) mover carrying USDOT and MC authority, so the shipment never changes hands between the high desert and the Pacific.

Leaving Nevada? PT Van Lines keeps the whole haul on one truck with one crew, priced in writing.

The story of this route is the climate flip

You leave a 105-degree Mojave morning and step out into mild, salty coastal air a few hours later. We load out of Las Vegas at dawn to beat the heat, then drive the I-15 corridor down through the Temecula valley into San Diego. Anything that reacts to a moisture or temperature swing rides padded and wrapped, so nothing shows up warped or sweating.

The San Diego move, plainly

Stage What we do
Vegas end Early-morning loadout, blanket pad and shrink on furniture, mattresses and electronics, plus full furniture disassembly
On the road One truck, one crew, I-15 through Temecula, no transfers or outside drivers
San Diego end COI cleared for coastal condos and gated communities, reassembly and placement, last box carried in

The price is one flat figure held by a $100 deposit and credited to your final bill. Whether you are trading a Centennial Hills two-story for a North County home or moving a Paradise studio downtown, the crew that loads your Las Vegas place is the crew that finishes the job at your San Diego door.

How this run goes · ~330 mi

One crew and one truck cover the entire haul, GPS-tracked from door to door on a single binding flat rate. We set your delivery day and we hold it — no outside hands ever touch the load, and the number on paper is the number you settle.

02 Why us

Whose name is on the truck is whose name is on your contract

Book PT Van Lines and the rig in your driveway is ours, the paperwork is ours, and the movers carrying your couch down the stairs are on our payroll — your job is never handed off. Brokers run it backwards: they sell the move to whoever bids lowest that week, then vanish.

PT Van Lines
  • Our own trucks, staffed by full-time background-checked movers — we never grab day labor off a corner
  • The number we put on paper is the number you settle — signed, locked, dollar for dollar
  • One crew from the first box loaded to the last box set down
  • Nevada (NTA) household-goods authority, USDOT/MC for interstate runs, and full insurance on every job
  • One Las Vegas office, one point of contact, from your first call through the last box
What a broker does
  • Auctions your move off to whichever outfit bids cheapest that week
  • Watches the quote balloon on move day with add-ons nobody warned you about
  • Sends strangers you have never spoken to up your stairs with everything you own
  • Keeps it vague about whose policy actually covers a dropped TV
  • Puts a call-center wall between you and whoever eventually rolls up to load

Questions we hear about this route

Should I expect a same-day or a next-day delivery?
It depends on the size. San Diego sits at the far southwest end of I-15, five to six hours from the Valley, so smaller loads still finish same-day. For three- and four-bedroom homes we usually load one day and deliver the next, which keeps the crew fresh for the coastal unload.
Going from dry desert to coastal air — does that bother my furniture?
The jump from bone-dry Mojave air to coastal humidity is real, and we plan around it. Wood, leather and electronics get padded and wrapped so the moisture swing does not catch anything cold-and-damp on arrival, and our crew unpacks and places everything at the San Diego end.
Do you handle moves near the bases and Navy housing?
We move plenty of households into the San Diego area, including the neighborhoods around the bases. We clear the certificate of insurance for gated communities and condo towers, hold one flat price, and keep the same crew on the job from Las Vegas to your San Diego address.
